Yachid. Echad is plural one, a Compound unity. Yachid is used when a singular or
absolute one is being stated. Moses did NOT make a mistake. The word of God says
ECHAD. God is One God beyond our understanding. He has both Unity and Diversity.
He is revealed as a compound One God, whose being is manifest in The Father, The
Son, and The Holy Spirit.
This concept of monotheism of the One True God of Israel, separates Judaism and
Christianity from any kind of polytheistic religion. It must be stressed that
essential monotheism of historical biblical Trinitarian doctrine does NOT imply
Unitarianism. When the Bible says God is one, this does not mean that God is an
absolute one, or uni-personal, in His being. Such a belief system denies over
3000 witnesses in the Word of God.
